 Weddings at Burnicombe Farm

Our Organic Farm Weddings

are available from May to September for a minimum party of 100 and maximum 240 people. Our unique wedding site is situated on our organic farm (registered with the Soil Association), in the Dartmoor National Park and only 10 miles west of Exeter with good road links from the M5, A38 and A30. The wedding site is very private, totally secluded, not at all over looked and an ideal place to have an informal and memorable event which can be as individual as you are. The wedding ceremony can take place in our beautiful circular arbour. It is situated at the approach to our wedding site with views down the Teign Valley and up towards Dartmoor. This unusual structure made of willow and hazel is specially appointed for ceremonial use whilst designed to be in keeping with the natural surroundings here.  It is wheelchair accessable, seats 20 and has sheltered standing room for 100 around the perimeter. We plan to be licenced for weddings by summer 2010.

Burnicombe Farm is in the heart of  the beautiful wooded Teign Valley in South Devon, surrounded by spectacular natural beauty with flora and fauna in abundance and stunning panoramic views to take your breath away and inspire your guests. The exclusive wedding site is only made available to 12 couples each year - so book early to avoid disappointment.

Have the reception in a yurt village or exotic Raj Tent and our packages include everything you need to make your day complete including discreet management on the day, a buffet meal, waiting and clearing staff, field kitchen, tables, seating, glassware, tableware, Indian cotton table cloths, electricity, lighting, heating, car parking, bon fire pit with fire wood and exclusive use of our camping facilities for your guests. Whilst the site is secluded and remote it has proper flush eco-loos, water and electricity.

The Reception The site accommodates a yurt village with up to 8 yurts of 5m to10m diameter - for up to 200 guests or 2 oval Raj Tents each measuring 18m X 12m which each seat up to 120 people and can be used seperately or together for up to 240 people.  Yurts can be lined with tapestries and traditional wall hangings. Raj Tents are lined with delicately block printed Indian Cotton with classic tiny mirrors hand sewn into the ceiling sections - casting beautiful reflections over the entire space to add to the exotic style. We use carpet flooring and a wooden dance floor is available if required.

Food Glorious Food! We offer a fabulous farm house 3 course organic buffet menu which can be tailored to your taste with vegetarian options if required. The food is all made on the farm and is ethical and ecological. Most of the produce is grown in our fields surrounding the wedding site – including our own meat, dairy produce, vegetables, herbs and fruit - so there are minimum food miles with maximum quality. We specialise in organic rare breed hog roasts with our own saddleback and old spot pigs.

More Food! We can do kids wedding food boxes, children’s buffet menu, variety of evening menus and big farm breakfasts the next morning for the campers.

Our paying bar with friendly attentive staff is available from 6.00pm - 11.00pm serving a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages including local ales and ciders along with spirits and popular beers. We offer a fine wine list to accompany the buffet menu including award winning wines made in Devon. We also organise welcome drinks and champagne toasts.

Worried about the weather? The Raj Tents and yurts are well made with quality materials and are as reliable as any low impact, temporary structure can be in bad weather. Yurts can be made really warm and cosy with wood burning stoves, rugs, felt lining, wall tapestries and cushion seating. We use space heaters in the Raj Tents which are safe and effective in the coldest weather.

Camping & Accommodation

Wedding guests have exclusive use of our camping fields adjacent to the wedding site and also close to the eco-loos! Our little log cabin, which is a short walk away from the site, is available to use as guest accommodation (sleeps 6) or simply chill out space, a private rest room for the bridal party or elderly guests or a quiet space for mothers to feed and change babies.
A sumptuous bridal yurt is hidden away in the ancient woodland near the wedding site and may be hired as a luxurious extra. 
The beautiful Teign Valley and Dartmoor are popular holiday destinations so if your guests don’t want to camp on the farm they will have no trouble finding somewhere to stay nearby in the surrounding villages. Choose from self catering, B & B’s, hotels, country houses, guest houses and pub accommodation

Try our own hand made organic ice cream made with fruit from the farm served from ‘Van Rouge’, our vintage citroen H van which we converted from a Paris fire engine.	Kids entertainment for all ages!

We can provide everything you need to make your dream a reality.
